
Pitt Football Unveils 2018 Promotional Schedule

PITTSBURGH—The promotional schedule for the highly anticipated 2018 Pitt football team's home schedule has been announced for the Panthers' six games at Heinz Field.

September 1 | Pitt vs. Albany | 3:30 p.m.
The Panthers will open the 2018 campaign against Albany on Sept. 1.
With kickoff set for 3:30 p.m., the game will not only serve as Pitt football's Home Opener but will also give fans a chance to experience the annual Heinz Field Kickoff and Rib Festival outside the stadium on the North Shore before and after the Panthers take on the Great Danes.
The game will also serve as Junior Panthers Day, giving young Pitt fans in 8th grade and under the opportunity to watch warmups on the field prior to the opening kickoff of the 2018 season.
September 8 | Pitt vs. Penn State | 8 p.m.
Pitt's primetime showdown with historic rival Penn State on Sept. 8 will serve as the 99th meeting in the Peoples Natural Gas Keystone Classic.
With the eyes of college football fans across the country watching the nationally televised game on ABC, Pitt will also present the members of the inaugural Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame induction class during a special ceremony on the field at halftime. September 15 | Pitt vs. Georgia Tech | 12:30 p.m.
Pitt opens its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule with a crucial Coastal Division clash against Georgia Tech on Sept. 15 at Heinz Field.
The Panthers' annual matchup with the Yellow Jackets will serve as Pitt football's 2018 Panthers Unite game, which gathers the student-athletes and coaches from all of Pitt's varsity sports to be on hand for the key contest.
Other promotions include TIAA-CREF Pitt Faculty and Staff Day, giving University of Pittsburgh employees the opportunity to take advantage of a discounted ticket with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Pitt's United Way Campaign, as well as another Junior Panthers Day for children in 8th grade or younger.
October 6 | Pitt vs. Syracuse | TBA
Always one of the most festive weekends on the University's calendar, Pitt will host its 2018 Homecoming on Oct. 6 when the Panthers face Syracuse at Heinz Field.

Pitt's yearly contest with ACC Atlantic Division rival Syracuse will serve as another opportunity for young fans to take advantage of Junior Panthers Day by watching warmups on the field.
October 27 | Pitt vs. Duke | TBA
When the Panthers welcome the Duke Blue Devils to Heinz Field on Oct. 27, promotional highlights will include Pitt Family Weekend, UPMC Breast Cancer Awareness Game, Band and Spirit Day, Scout Day, Girl Scout Day and Youth Football Day.
Pitt is proud to support the fight against breast cancer by promoting the importance of early detection. Parents and families of students are invited to join us for the University's annual Family Weekend.
Additionally, local high school bands and cheerleading squads will add to the day's pageantry by participating in the Pitt Band's pregame concert, March to Victory and halftime and in-game performances. Scouts, Girl Scouts and youth football teams are encouraged to join us pregame for an exclusive chalk talk and on-field opportunities.
November 10 | Pitt vs. Virginia Tech | TBA
As Pitt welcomes Coastal Division foe Virginia Tech to Heinz Field on Veteran's Day weekend, the athletic department will once again pay tribute to our heroes in the armed services and our community with a Hail to Heroes game promotion.
All active, reserve and retired military personnel as well as first responders are invited to attend. Heroes may claim up to four (4) tickets to the game with registration opening later this fall.
Pregame festivities will also include Pitt football Senior Day recognition as families of the 2018 Pitt football senior class greet the senior Panthers playing in their final game at Heinz Field as they run out of the tunnel.
