CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Pittsburgh wrestling team concluded action at the 2018 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships Friday afternoon at Quicken Loans.
Redshirt senior Nick Zanetta was the lone Panther to win his consolation match to advance to the third round, however he was stopped by ACC foe and No. 5 seed Kevin Jack of NC State.
Zanetta, along with senior Dom Forys (133) and redshirt senior Ryan Solomon (285) all concluded their collegiate careers this afternoon.
Below is a recap of each Panthers' consolation match, as well as Zanetta's third round consolation match.
133 | #5 John Erneste (MIZZOU) pins #11 Dom Forys (UP), 3:58

Erneste escaped again and picked up a four nearfall to build a 7-4 lead. Entering the second, Forys began on top and fell behind 8-4 after an Erneste escape. Soon after, Erneste caught Forys on his back to record the fall in 3:58 to end it for Forys.
