PITTSBURGH – Sophomore Shamiel Stevenson will transfer from the University of Pittsburgh. The 6-6 forward out of Canada had appeared in four games and was averaging 3.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
"We support Shamiel's decision to continue his academic and athletic career elsewhere," said head coach Jeff Capel. "We appreciate his efforts with the Pitt Basketball program and wish him well."
Pitt returns to action Thursday, Dec. 20 against New Orleans (7 p.m. – ACC Network Extra). The Panthers, 8-3 overall and 6-1 at the Petersen Events Center, also host Colgate (Dec. 29) in non-conference play before opening up ACC action Saturday, Jan. 5 against North Carolina (12 p.m. – Raycom).
