Wrestling to Hold Practice in FedEx Great Hall

Pitt to Hold Practice at Heinz Field Before Football vs. NC State

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh wrestling team will hold practice in the FedEx Great Hall of Heinz Field Saturday, Oct. 14 ahead of the Pitt football homecoming game versus NC State.
Practice will run from 10:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. with the football kickoff set for noon.
Gates at Heinz Field open at 10 a.m. The first 30,000 fans in attendance will receive a free James Conner bobblehead.
During the practice, fans will have the opportunity to purchase Pitt wrestling 2017-18 flex season ticket packages and receive their gift of an exclusive rally towel and stainless steel koozie.
The first official day of practice for the Panthers is Tuesday, Oct. 10 with the first competition set for Saturday, Nov. 11 when the team makes the trip to the Eastern Michigan Open.
Gavin enters his first season as head coach of his alma mater. The 2008 national champion takes over a program that returns three NCAA qualifiers from a year ago in senior Dom Forys, Ryan Solomon and Taleb Rahmani. Gavin and his staff have also added standout transfers in Kellan Stout (Penn State) and Micky Phillippi (Virginia).

New this year, Pitt will be offering a flex season ticket package for $35. Each package will include a total of seven tickets, which can be used for any match. Tickets can be used traditionally (one ticket for each match) or in any combination (two tickets for three matches, seven tickets for one match, etc.).

Pitt versus Virginia will be the lone dual held in the Petersen Events Center this year. Fans with flex season tickets will have the option to sit in a reserved seating area similar to when Pitt wrestles in the Fitzgerald Field House. Flex season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased here. Single tickets for the Virginia dual can be purchased by clicking here. The last time Pitt wrestled in the Petersen Events Center in 2015, the Panthers drew 7,103 spectators when they hosted Penn State.
