PITTSBURGH—After helping Pitt field its highest-scoring offense in school history last fall, quarterback Nathan Peterman and offensive lineman Adam Bisnowaty have been working out for NFL scouts at practices this week in Mobile, Ala., ahead of the 2017 Reese's Senior Bowl at Ladd-Pebbles Stadium.
With Peterman and Bisnowaty set to play big roles for the North Team, the 2017 Reese's Senior Bowl will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday and be broadcast exclusively on the NFL Network, which is also providing daily coverage of the afternoon practices at 1 p.m. ET with a daily recap show at 8 p.m. ET.
Peterman passed for 2,855 yards with 27 touchdowns compared to just seven interceptions while leading the ACC with a passing efficiency of 163.4 in 2016. He has been earning rave reviews from numerous NFL scouts this week for his performances at Senior Bowl practices.
This marks the first time that two Pitt offensive players will play in the Senior Bowl since 2008, when offensive tackles Jeff Otah and Mike McGlynn appeared before embarking on professional careers. The Panthers most recently had two players at the 2009 Senior Bowl, which featured a pair of Pitt representatives in linebacker Scott McKillop and long snapper Mark Estermyer.
Peterman and Bisnowaty will join an accomplished list of 59 former Panthers that have played in the Senior Bowl. That list includes Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees Joe Schmidt, Rickey Jackson, Dan Marino, Chris Doleman and Curtis Martin, along with other Pitt all-time greats such as Jim Covert, Ruben Brown and Aaron Donald.
