PITTSBURGH - Eight players from the Pitt football team participated in Pro Day on Wednesday at the UPMC Sports Performance Complex.
In front of 24 NFL teams, Tyler Boyd, Nicholas Grigsby, J.P. Holtz, Khaynin Mosley-Smith, David Murphy, Lafayette Pitts, Darryl Render and Artie Rowell took part in numerous tests and drills led by multiple scouts.
Included in the testing was:
225-pound bench press
Verical Jump
Broad Jump
20-yard Shuttle
60-yard Shuttle
3-Cone Drill
Positional Drills
After weigh-ins, bench press was the first exercise and Mosley-Smith did the most reps at 27. He was followed by Rowell (25), Grigsby (21), Render (21) and Holtz (20).
Grigsby then had an impressive showing in the vertical jump as he reached 36.5 inches. He also went 10 feet, four inches in the standing broad jump. Pitts had a solid showing in both exercises as well, going 33.5 inches in the vertical and 10 feet, two inches in the broad.
Tyler Boyd only participated in the 40-yard dash and positional drills, and accomplished exactly what he set out to do. After running a 4.58 at the NFL Combine, Boyd improved his 40-yard dash time, unofficially running sub 4.5.
The NFL Draft is to begin on Thursday, April 28.
Up Next: The Panthers continue spring ball on Thursday with their second practice. The Spring Game will be held at Heinz Field on April 16 at 1 p.m.
