VIDEO: Pitt's 1-2 Punch Continues to Power Panthers

PITTSBURGH -- The senior tandem of Michael Young and Jamel Artis continues to be one of the most productive duos in the country as non-conference play picks back up following finals week for the Panthers. Pitt's dymanic pair has combined for 19 double-figure scoring games, including 12 games with 20 or more points, for the 8-2 Panthers.
Young and Artis rank fourth in the NCAA in combined scoring at 41.9 points per game with a pair of 50+ point outings. They have both scored 20 or more points in a game an NCAA-best five times this season.
Young leads the ACC in scoring at 23.0 points per game, while also ranking in the top 10 in rebounds, field goal percentage and free throw percentage. The Duquesne, Pa., native has already made a career-high 11 three-point field goals and is shooting 44.0 percent from behind the arc. He is tied for fifth in the NCAA with seven 20+ point scoring games.
Artis has made a smooth transition to the point guard position, raising his scoring average to 18.9 points per game, while also delivering 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. The Baltimore, Md., native has scored in double figures in all nine games he has played and is tied for third in the ACC with five 20+ point scoring efforts.
