Pitt Draws Syracuse in First Round of ACC Tournament

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt men's soccer team will travel to Syracuse, N.Y., Wednesday, Nov. 2, to take on No. 6 Syracuse in the opening round of the 2016 ACC Tournament.
Participating in ACC postseason play for the first time, the Panthers enter as the No. 12 seed while the Orange are No. 5.
With the new format of the conference tournament, all 12 teams earn a trip whereas just 10 participated in previous years. The top four seeds (North Carolina, Wake Forest, Louisville, Clemson) have first round byes to the quarterfinals, all played at campus sites. The championship game will be played at MUSC Health Stadium in Charleston, S.C.
Pitt and Syracuse will clash for the 21st time in program history. The series is tied 8-8-4 with the Orange taking the most recent meeting in 2015.
