LATROBE, Pa. - Coming off a dominating performance at the Buffalo Stampede Invitational, the University of Pittsburgh men's and women's cross country teams look to carry that momentum into the St. Vincent Invitational on Saturday.
Pitt will be among 17 schools participating in the race. The men's 8K is scheduled to get things started at 9:30 a.m., followed by the women's 5K at 10:30 a.m.
The Panthers will once again feature their young talent at this week's race and will rest their top runners after last weekend's outing at UB.
Both the men and the women took first place as a team in Buffalo, while Pitt had the top individual runners as well with sophomore Melanie Vlasic winning the women's race and senior Michael Runco winning for the men.
For her efforts, Vlasic was named the ACC Female Co-Performer of the Week, becoming Pitt's first-ever ACC cross country weekly award winner.
Looking ahead, the Panthers will travel to the Roy Griak Invitational next weekend hosted by the University of Minnesota, which will be one of the top meets the Panthers will compete in this season.
