BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, announced today that the University of Pittsburgh's Trees Pool on campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will be outfitted with two new Daktronics LED displays this summer.
"Pitt has made a three-decade jump from the reflective display we previously used to this cutting-edge, high-definition LED display," said Chuck Knoles, University of Pittsburgh head swimming and diving coach. "It is a stunning display board. The display will give us the ability to enhance the fan experience and athlete excitement at every turn, building fan support and excitement at all of our competitions."
The main LED video display features 10 millimeter line spacing and will measure approximately 14.5 feet high and 26 feet wide. Variable content zoning will allow the display to show one large image or be divided into different zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, school records, lap times and advertisements.
The display will incorporate excellent image clarity and contrast with industry-leading environmental protection to combat the humidity associated with water sports. Daktronics displays have the widest viewing angles in the industry, making every seat at Trees Pool ideal, ensuring every fan a great view and improved event experience.
"Daktronics and Institutions Specialties, Inc. are very proud to continue our long standing relationship with the University of Pittsburgh," said Scott Willson of Daktronics. "The new displays will be a tremendous upgrade at Trees Pool. It will have a huge impact on the fans, sponsors, and athletes competing in the venue."
The installation will include an indoor message center capable of showing diving results, scoring and timing information. It will measure approximately 6 feet high and 10 feet wide and also feature a 10 millimeter line spacing.
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
