EUGENE, Ore. -- Junior Evann Thompson will leave Eugene with Honorable Mention All-America accolades after placing 24th in the 400 meter hurdles at the NCAA National Championship Meet.
Thompson did not have her best effort in the national semifinal race, running a time of 1:01.55. That time was over four second slower than her NCAA East Preliminary time of 57.02 which she posted in her last race out.
Thompson concludes her junior season by repeating as an All-American. She placed 17th in this same event at last year's National Championship Meet.
The school record holder in the 400 meter hurdles who has dual citizenship, Thompson now turns her attention to the Jamaican Senior National Championship Meet set for June 25-28 in Kingston.
Looking ahead to Friday, sophomore Desmond Palmer will run for a national title in the men's 400 meter hurdles at 6 p.m. PST (9 p.m. EST). Fans can watch Palmer run live on ESPN.
