Pitt Ranked 25th in USA Today Coaches Poll

PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh men's basketball team is ranked 25th in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll as released Monday afternoon. The Panthers, 10-1 on the season, moved into the top 25 for the first time this season.
The veteran trio of Jamel Artis, James Robinson and Michael Young have led the Panthers throughout the season combining to average 43.5 points per game. Pitt currently ranks among the NCAA leaders in scoring (85.5 ppg. - 15th), field goal percentage (.501 - 15th), scoring margin (+22.3 - 6th), free throw percentage (.802 - 1st), rebound margin (+11.2 - 11th), assists (20.2 apg. - 5th) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.73:1 - 9th).
The Panthers claimed a spot in the Coaches Poll for the first time since week 15 (Feb. 10) of the 2013-14 season.
Pitt returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 30 with a home contest against long-time rival Syracuse (9:05 p.m. - ESPN2). The Panthers are 7-2 all-time against the Orange at Petersen Events Center.
