Racciato Collects Weekly Honors

PITTSBURGH - After winning five consecutive matches over the weekend, junior Mikey Racciato of the Pitt wrestling team was named FloWrestler of the Week by FloWrestling and First National Bank Athlete of the Week.
The Pen Argyl, Pa., native started his weekend in his hometown on the right foot with No. 10 Lehigh on Friday. The 141-pounder faced Bethlehem, Pa., native No. 8 Randy Cruz in what fans expected to be an exciting match. Racciato did not disappoint as he came out with a 3-2 decision at Leeman-Turner Arena.
Racciato carried his momentum to the Keystone Classic on Sunday as he battled his way through four different opponents en route to an individual title. The reigning 149 pound ACC Champion defeated No. 11 Todd Preston in a 3-2 decision to claim first place and was named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
His efforts throughout the day led Pitt to become overall team champions with 132 points. Sophomore Dom Forys also collected an individual title at 133 pounds.
