Matchups Set for Blue vs. Gold

PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh wrestling team will host its instrasquad Blue versus Gold scrimmage Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Field House.

The scrimmage will feature 15 total matches across all 10 weight classes and will be fans first opportunity to see this year's Panthers in action.

Pitt returns 17 wrestlers from last season, and has added 16 new faces to the roster. Five of the returners are former NCAA qualifiers, including 2015 ACC Champion Mikey Racciato. The Panthers finished the 2014-15 season 21st and was highlighted by a runner-up finish in St. Louis at 174 pounds in then-senior Tyler Wilps. Wilps has now joined the coaching staff for this season as the volunteer assistant coach.
