PITTSBURGH - Season and match tickets for the University of Pittsburgh wrestling 2015-16 campaign are on sale as of Tuesday, Oct. 20.
The Panthers are set to compete in the Fitzgerald Field House seven times this season. Fans can purchase season tickets for $35, which includes a premium reserved seating area that will be held for season ticket holders to ensure the best viewing location.
Match tickets for duals at Fitzgerald Field House will cost $5 for general admission and $1 for groups of 15 or more.
The Panthers will hold its intrasquad Blue vs. Gold dual on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Field House. Admission to the match is free. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the upcoming home campaign at the match.
Fans are able to purchase season and match tickets by going online, calling 800-643-PITT(7488), or visiting the Panthers Ticket Office located in the lobby of the Petersen Events Center. Group rates are available to all matches for 15 or more people and are available by calling the Panthers Ticket Office. Match tickets will also be available at the ticket office the day of the match, subject to availability. Group rates are not available at the door.
The Panthers will host the annual Pitt Duals on Jan. 9, and welcome 12 total teams. Pitt will clash with ACC-foe Duke, as well as Brown, Franklin & Marshall, and Davidson. The all-day event will cost $10 for general admission and $5 for group tickets.
Following Pitt Duals, the Panthers take on Oklahoma State (Jan. 17), who has won 33 NCAA team titles since 1928. This tilt will have a special match price of $8 for general admission, while the group rate is $5.
Pitt's first conference match will come against defending ACC champion Virginia (Jan. 24), followed by matchups with NC State (Jan. 30) and Virginia Tech (Feb. 5). All three matches will be at the Fitzgerald Field House.
At the conclusion of the 2014-15 season, the Panthers ranked in the top-15 for average attendance among Division I wrestling programs for the third consecutive year. When the Panthers hosted in-state rival Penn State on Nov. 21, 2014, at the Petersen Events Center, the school established a match home record for attendance with 7,103 spectators. Only three more schools -- Iowa, Penn State and Minnesota -- filled their venues with more fans a total of seven times, making Pitt's dual with the Nittany Lion's the eighth-highest attended single-match dual of the season.
