Georgia Tech at Pitt • Petersen Events Center • Pittsburgh, Pa. • January 17, 2015
Pitt 70, Georgia Tech 65
•Pitt improved to 13-5 overall and 3-2 in the ACC with a 70-65 home win over Georgia Tech. Pitt is back in action on Monday, Jan. 19 at Duke. Tipoff is 7 p.m. for an ESPN Big Monday broadcast at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
•Pitt improved to 9-1 at the Petersen Events Center this year. Pitt is now 202-28 all-time at the Petersen Events Center and 81-25 all-time in league regular season games at the arena.
•When either tied or leading at the half, Pitt improved to 10-0 on the year.
•Cameron Wright tied a career-high with 20 points on 7-11 shooting. He also tied a career-high with four steals on the day. Previously, he also scored 20 points vs. Duquesne on Nov. 30, 2013 and has now had six four steal games. It marked his second 20-point game, 30th career double figure scoring game and sixth double figure scoring game of the year.
•Jamel Artis tied a career-high with 20 points on career-highs of seven field goals and 14 field goal attempts. It was his second 20-point scoring contest of his career, after scoring 20 vs. Manhattan on Dec. 17, 2014. Artis also notched his 11th career double figure scoring game and ninth of the year.
•With 16 points (5-8 FG) and a team-high six rebounds, Michael Young totaled his 19th career double figure scoring game and 14th of the year in 18 games.
•James Robinson finished with a season-high nine assists. He also had just one turnover for a stellar 9:1 assist:turnover ratio.
•With his perfect 9-9 performance from the free throw line, Georgia Tech’s Marcus Georges-Hunt tied a Petersen Events Center record for best free throw percentage (1.000).
•Pitt improved to 2-5 all-time in seven matchups against Georgia Tech. It has now won each of the two ACC matchups of the last two seasons.
