*The loss drops Pitt to 25-9 overall on the year. The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for Sunday night at 6 p.m. ET on CBS.
*Pitt finished 2-1 in its first-ever ACC Tournament. The last time Pitt won two consecutive league tournament games was in 2008, when it won the Big East Championship with four consecutive victories.
*Pitt has won five of its last seven games, including all five away from home. It has 12 wins in games played away from home on the year, a league-best 7-2 in road contests and 5-2 at neutral sites.
*In Pitt’s three ACC Tournament games, the Panthers shot 46.6 percent (76-163), hit 15 3-pointers and outrebounded their opponents 36.7-30.7.
*Individually in Pitt’s three ACC Tournament games, Lamar Patterson averaged 17.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game and hit 9-22 3-pointers. Talib Zanna finished the tourney with a 17.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game averages. Zanna also shot 67.7 percent (21-31) from the floor.
*Virginia outshot Pitt 46.7 percent-36.7 percent. Pitt dropped to 3-9 on the season when it is outshot by its opponent. It is 22-0 when posting a better field goal percentage than its opponent.
*Pitt finished the day with a 36.7 percent (18-48) field goal percentage. It ended a five-game streak in which Pitt converted 50 percent or better from the floor.
*Talib Zanna scored 15 points on 5-8 shooting to go along with nine rebounds in 39 minutes of action. Zanna has now reached double figure scoring in 26 games on the year and 53 career contests.
*With his 15 points, Lamar Patterson has reached double figure scoring for the 32nd time in 34 games and for the 10th consecutive contest. He has reached double figures in 69 career games.
*Pitt dropped to 3-9 all-time vs. Virginia. It has now lost a series-high five consecutive games to the Cavaliers.
