•Pitt improved to 5-3 on the year with a 76-62 win over Duquesne in the 83rd City Game.
•Pitt won its 14th consecutive game vs. Duquesne in the City Game Rivalry. It is the longest win streak by either team in the series. Pitt improved to 52-31 in its 83-game series against Duquesne. The Panthers have also claimed 33 of the series’ last 36 games. The Panthers entered this evening’s game after winning the previous 13 matchups by an average margin of 15.8 points per game.
•Pitt played its sixth all-time game at Consol Energy Center. It improved to 5-1 in such games.
•Tonight’s attendance of 14,905 ranked as the second largest crowd to witness a Pitt-Duquesne matchup at Consol Energy Center. Pitt-Duquesne drew a crowd of 15,880 on Nov. 30, 2011 at Consol Energy Center, the largest crowd ever to witness a City Game.
•Jamie Dixon improved to a perfect 12-0 in games played vs. Duquesne.
•Jamie Dixon improved to 137-15 overall vs. non-conference foes.
•James Robinson led Pitt in scoring with a career-high 23 points. Fifteen of his 23 points came in the first half. He tied a career-high with three 3-pointers and eight free throws made. It was the third time this year that Robinson led the Panthers in scoring. His streak of 20 consecutive free throws made came to an end. It marked his fifth double figure scoring game of the year and 21st of his career.
•Junior Joseph Uchebo notched career-highs of 12 points and nine rebounds. He also set career-highs for field goals made and attempted (5-9), free throws made (2) and offensive rebounds (6).
•Senior Cameron Wright made his much anticipated return to action when he entered the game at the 13:07 mark of the first half. Wright had missed each of Pitt’s first seven games due to a broken left foot (fifth metatarsal).
•Josh Newkirk totaled 16 points (3-4 3FG) and five assists in 30 minutes off the bench. It was his second straight 16-point performance and second consecutive 30-minute game. His 16 points tied a season high, his fourth double figure scoring game of the season and ninth of his career.
•With his 12 points, Chris Jones registered his fourth double figure scoring game of the year and over his career. He played in a career-high 36 minutes.
•Sophomore Jamel Artis finished the game with nine points and a career-high 10 rebounds. He also set a career-high with nine defensive rebounds and tied career-highs for free throws made (five), free throw attempts (seven) and assists (four).
