•Pitt finished in third place in the 2014 EA Sports Maui Invitational with a 23-point victory (70-47) over Kansas State on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Pitt finished the three-game Maui Invitational with a 2-1 record after defeating Chaminade in the first round and losing to No. 15 San Diego State in the semifinal round.
•Pitt's Michael Young earned EA Sports Maui Invitational all-tournament team honors after he averaged 16.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Arizona's Stanley Johnson was named the 2014 Dr. Sue Wesselkamper Most Valuable Player. Also earning all-tournament honors were Arizona's Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, San Diego State's Winston Shepard, BYU's Tyler Haws and San Diego State's Trey Kell.
•Pitt shot a season-high 55.3 percent (26-47) from the floor. The Panthers also hit a season-high tying 8-15 3-point field goals (53.3 percent).
•On the defensive end, Pitt held Kansas State to 32.6 percent (15-46) field goal shooting and 15.4 percent (2-13) 3-point field goal shooting.
•Sparked by Ryan Luther's 13 points, Pitt's bench outscored Kansas State 28-10.
•Freshman Ryan Luther scored a career-high 13 points (5-7 FG) and converted a career-high 3-4 3-point field goals in the game. Luther also played a career-high 24 minutes.
•With his 13 points, Michael Young reached double figure scoring for the fourth time on the year and ninth time in his career.
•James Robinson finished with 14 points, his third consecutive double figure scoring game. It marked his 20th career double figure scoring game. Ten of his 14 points were scored in the first half. He also finished with a career-high tying four steals. Robinson has also hit 19 consecutive free throws (2-2 vs. Hawaii in the second half, 5-5 vs. Chaminade, 6-6 vs. San Diego State and 6-6 today vs. Kansas State).
•Jamel Artis scored 10 points, his third double figure scoring game of the year and fifth of his career. He also played a career-high 34 minutes.
•Pitt dropped to 9-4 all-time in games played in Hawaii.
•Pitt played Kansas State for the first time in men's basketball
