•Pitt will play in the EA Sports Maui Invitational Third Place Game to play in Kansas State on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. Hawaii Time. The contest will be nationally televised on ESPN2. Pitt competes in three games over a three-day stretch as part of the EA Sports Maui Invitational from Nov. 24-26.
•San Diego State defeated the Panthers by 17 points (74-57). The 17-point loss marked Pitt’s largest loss since an 18-point loss (73-55) to Wichita State on March 21, 2013 in the NCAA Tournament Second Round. Under Jamie Dixon, Pitt has only been defeated by 20 points or more three times, three times in 98 career losses.
•San Diego State finished the game shooting 58.7 percent (27-46) from the floor. The 58.7 percent shooting ranked as the fifth highest percentage for an opponent in the Jamie Dixon Era.
•San Diego State blocked 10 shots on the day. That tied for the most blocked shots in a game in the Jamie Dixon Era. Syracuse also blocked 10 shots vs. Pitt on Jan. 23, 2006.
•Pitt shot a season-low 37.7 percent (20-53) for the game. The last time Pitt shot that low of a percentage was against No. 1 ranked Florida in the NCAA Tournament on March 22, 2014. The Panthers shot just 37.3 percent that day.
•With a No. 15 national ranking, San Diego State represented Pitt’s first nationally ranked opponent of the year.
•Pitt turned the ball over 17 times. The last time Pitt had as many turnovers was on Feb. 26, 2014 at Boston College (17).
•James Robinson finished with a season-high tying 17 points. It marked his 19th career double figure scoring game.
•Pitt dropped to 8-4 all-time in games played in Hawaii.
•Pitt played San Diego State for the first time in men’s basketball.
