PITTSBURGH – Season and single match tickets for the University of Pittsburgh wrestling 2014-15 campaign are on sale effective Tuesday Oct. 14.
The seven-match home schedule is priced at $35, which includes best available reserved seating to the Penn State dual match at the Petersen Events Center and general admission for the remaining six home dates at Fitzgerald Field House.
Single-match tickets for duals at Fitzgerald Field House will cost $5 for general admission and $1 for groups of 15 or more.
Fans are able to purchase season and single dual tickets by going online, calling 800-643-PITT(7488), or visiting the Panthers Ticket Office located in the lobby of the Petersen Events Center. Group rates are available to all matches for 15 or more people and are available by calling the Panthers Ticket Office. Individual match tickets will also be available at the Ticket Office the day of the match, subject to availability. Group rates are not available at the door.
With four-time defending National Champions Penn State paying a visit to town and the event taking place at the Petersen Events Center, a special ticket rate has been developed. Reserved seating will be $12 and groups of 15 or more will receive a discounted rate of $10. For general admission, tickets are $8 and the group rate is $6.
In addition to bringing in Penn State, Pitt wrestles traditional in-state rivals Bucknell, Lehigh and Clarion at home. Pitt will continue rivalries with Maryland and West Virginia despite being in different conferences now. The annual Backyard Brawl with the Mountaineers is the setting for the regular season finale. Once again, the Panthers will host the Pitt Duals, which features ACC foes Duke and North Carolina this year among the seven teams competing in the event.
Pitt is coming off a dual championship in its first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference and has been crowned a conference dual champion in four of the last five seasons. This year’s squad, which finished 22nd at last season’s NCAA Championships, returns five NCAA qualifiers.
For the second straight season, Pitt ranked in the top-15 nationally in average attendance for dual meets. With an average of 1,044 fans in attendance, the Panthers ranked 12th in the country. The dual between Pitt and Penn State in State College last year set an NCAA dual meet record of 15,996 fans.
