•Pitt moves to 18-2 on the season and 6-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference with the four-point road win at Maryland. The Panthers completed a 2-0 sweep of the Terrapins and maintain a tie for second place in the league.
•The Panthers held a 42-37 advantage over the Terrapins at the half, the first halftime road lead this season (four road games). With the victory, Pitt has now claimed five of its last six road games and nine road wins over its past 12 road contests. Pitt is 3-1 on the road this year with wins over North Carolina State, Georgia Tech and Maryland.
•Pitt scored 80-plus points in a game for the 10th time this season (20 games). The Panthers tallied 80 or more points in 10 games during the 2011-12 season – but that was over 39 games.
•The Panthers attempted a season-high 47 free throws, the most by a Pitt team in a single game since 47 attempts against Providence on Feb. 11, 1990. Pitt drained a season-high 32 free throws – topping the previous season high of 30 (vs. Stanford, 11/26/13).
•Pitt hit 32 of 47 free throws. Both marks were Jamie Dixon Era bests.
•The Terrapins had more field goals (26) than the Panthers (25) – the first time this season Pitt won a contest in which its opponent had more field goals.
•With the win, Jamie Dixon pulled into a tie for fourth in the NCAA Division I all-time coaching wins list after 11 years as a head coach. He trails 1. Roy Williams, Kansas 305 wins, 2. Thad Matta, Butler/Xavier/Ohio State, 292, 3. Mark Few, Gonzaga, 291 and is tied with 4. Everett Case, North Carolina State, 280.
•Senior Lamar Patterson scored a team-high 28 points, the most for the forward since his career-high performance of 30 on Dec. 21 versus Cal Poly. Patterson has tallied 20 or more points eight times over his career, seven of those this season. Patterson tied his career-high in assists with seven dimes. He has reached that mark now on 10 occasions. The Lancaster, Pa. native co-led the team in rebounds with seven – the sixth time this season that Patterson posted seven or more boards in a game. Patterson also finished with career-highs for free throws made (12) and free throw attempts (14).
•Pitt head coach Jamie Dixon now owns a 17-0 record vs. previous ACC teams and a 33-11 overall record vs. current ACC teams (including Syracuse and Notre Dame).
•Senior forward Talib Zanna had 16 points. He attempted a career-high 14 free throw attempts, topping his previous best of 11. Zanna had seven rebounds, the 11th time this season he has registered seven or more rebounds in a game.
•Sophomore James Robinson registered 13 points, his fifth double-digit contest this season and second in ACC play. He played in a career-high 37 minutes. Earlier in the day, Pitt hosted a shootaround at his high school, DeMatha Catholic. He is all-time winningest player in DeMatha Catholic history.
•Redshirt junior Cameron Wright totaled 12 points, the 16th time he has scored 10 or more points in a single game over his career – the 12th time this season.
•Baltimore native Jamel Artis tied a career-high with 4-4 free throws. He finished with eight points and six rebounds.
•Pitt visited College Park and Maryland for the first time since Jan. 12, 1980. Pitt improved to 4-5 all-time vs. Maryland. It has won each of the last three meetings between the two schools.
