Panthers Turn in Top-10 Performance at ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh women’s track and field team turned in a strong performance this weekend at the ECAC Championships in Princeton, N.J., finishing ninth with 34 points.
Senior Cambrya Jones won the 100-meter dash finals, crossing the finish line in 11.66. She advanced to the finals by finishing third in the 100-meter prelims and winning the semis.
Junior Arielle Fonrose finished fifth in the 400-meter dash finals with a mark of 54.04 while sophomore Jordan Hoyt finished third in the 200-meter dash finals (23.99). Hoyt won the 200-meter prelims with a time of 23.96. Junior Jonnique Lawrence finished third in the 200-meter prelims (24.08) while Jones finished fourth (24.08).
In the field events, sophomore Ashley Corum finished ninth in the triple jump finals with a leap of 12.16 meters.
Freshman Taylor Slaney finished fifth in the javelin with a throw of 44.88 meters.
