Panthers Compete on Day Two of Penn Relays

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh women’s track and field team competed in its second day of action at the Penn Relays held at Franklin Field on Friday.
The 400-meter relay team of sophomore Jordan Hoyt, juniors Ashley Woodford and Jonnique Lawrence and senior Cambrya Jones won the ECAC Final with a time of 45.58.
That time improved on the relay team’s qualifying time of 45.98 in the prelims on Friday.
In another strong performance, the 800-meter relay team of Lawrence, Hoyt, Jones and freshman Xauddina Whittington finished sixth in the prelims (1:35.28). The squad qualified for the Championship of America final on Saturday at 2:25 p.m.
Saturday marks the final day of competition at Franklin Field. The meet will resume at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. The meet will be broadcast on NBC from 1-3 p.m. ET.
