PITTSBURGH -
The Pitt gymnastics squad stays on the road this weekend for a Saturday meet at George Washington at 1 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center.
The Panthers enter the weekend at 4-6 overall and 2-2 in EAGL action, while league foe George Washington is 9-7 overall and 1-5 in EAGL competition.
“This should be a fun meet for us,” said head coach Debbie Yohman. “It is an easy trip, a nice venue that we’re familiar with and we’ll have lots of family and friends attending. Yet, on our mind as we head to D.C., we are preparing for the EAGL Championships and working to earn a regional spot. That is our focus!”
Pitt and George Washington also met on February 4 of this year in a quad meet at Pittsburgh with Rutgers and William & Mary included. The Panthers won the meet with a season-best score of 194.550 while GW took second with a 193.125. Pitt freshman Haley Bodenheimer finished second in the all-around with an impressive 39.025.
The Panthers and Colonials will meet again on March 24 at the EAGL Championships, which are held at Fitzgerald Field House on Pitt’s campus. For ticket information, contact the Panthers Ticket Office at 412-648-PITT (7488) or visit PittsburghPanthers.com.
