Watch Live: Pitt Gymnastics vs. George Washington, Rutgers and William & Mary
PITTSBURGH -
The Pitt gymnastics team will play host to George Washington, Rutgers and William & Mary on Saturday night at 6 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House in the Panthers' first quad meet of the year.
"This should be a competitive meet," Pitt head coach Debbie Yohman said. "We have one event that we still have a big goal to achieve, and three other events that we're working on the little details. We have three chances tomorrow to come out on top so I think everyone is looking forward to warming up and turning it on."
Pitt is looking to build on the consistency it has found early in the season as it enters the meet. Freshman Haley Bodenheimer, who has been a main force in that consistency, was named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League's Rookie of the Week for her performance last week against No. 11 Ohio State.
The Panthers are familiar with its opponents this weekend as Rutgers (3-3 overall, 0-2 EAGL) and George Washington (2-6 overall, 0-2 EAGL) are league foes and William & Mary (1-7 overall, 0-2 ECAC) is a frequent adversary.
Saturday night will be Flip Pitt, a night geared toward youths in the community with a face painter, a poster-making contest with prizes and much more.
