Pitt’s gymnastics squad travels to Kentucky for a tri-meet with the Wildcats and Auburn Tigers on Friday at 7 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington for their annual Pink Meet.
“Pitt gymnastics is looking forward to heading to Kentucky for our tri-meet against two SEC teams,” head coach Debbie Yohman said. “The SEC is top notch when it comes to supporting gymnastics so it will be a super exciting competition. We also feel that when we do a good job there we will get rewarded with some good scores and can come away with a great road score. It’s a long trip but we can’t wait to get out on the floor!”
The Panthers have been producing strong performances this season and they have been rewarded, including recording numerous career-high scores in each meet. In addition, all-arounder freshmen Haley Bodenheimer and Haley Sedgewick have each earned EAGL Rookie of the Week honors for their performances.
Friday’s meet will serve as Kentucky’s Pink Meet with a $1 admission fee for fans wearing pink to the meet. All ticket proceeds will go towards breast cancer research, education and treatment at the Market Cancer Center.
Live scoring for the meet can be found on Kentucky’s website at www.UKAthletics.com.
