PITTSBURGH - · Serving as game captains for Pitt were QB Tino Sunseri and DL Myles Caragein.
· Pitt's honorary team captain for the game was Jim Covert, a two-time All-America offensive tackle at Pitt in both 1981 and 1982. Covert was a first-round draft pick by the Chicago Bears in 1983 and played nine seasons with the franchise from 1983-91.
· DL Chas Alecxih's 47-yard third quarter interception return marked the first by a Pitt defensive lineman since Greg Romeus intercepted a pass against Syracuse on November 7, 2009.
· RB Ray Graham finished the evening with 201 rushing yards on a career-high tying 29 carries. He also tied a career-high with three touchdowns. Graham surpassed the 200-yard rushing plateau for the second time in his career. He finished with 277 yards on 29 attempts and scored three touchdowns against Florida International on October 2, 2010. The last time a Pitt running back rushed for over 200 yards was on December 4, 2010 when Dion Lewis ran for 261 yards on 42 attempts against Cincinnati. Graham has now rushed for 100 or more yards four times in his career.
· Graham's three rushing TDs marks his third multiple TD game in his career.
· WR Mike Shanahan finished with a career-high 85 receiving yards on five catches. His previous career-high high was 83 yards receiving against North Carolina on Dec. 26, 2009 in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.
