Football Blue-Gold Game this Saturday at Heinz Field

PITTSBURGH—Pitt fans will get their first glimpse of the new-look Panthers under Coach Todd Graham this Saturday, April 16, when the team concludes spring drills with the Annual Blue-Gold Game at Heinz Field at 2 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at the stadium beginning at noon for Pitt’s “Spring Football Festival” presented by Western Pennsylvania Chevy Dealers. Activities include:
· A free youth clinic for kids (8th grade and under) beginning at 12:30 p.m. Kids will receive personal instruction from Pitt players and coaches right on the playing surface of Heinz Field.
· Pitt’s radio flagship, 93.7 The Fan, will broadcast live from the Gate A plaza. Gregg Giannotti, Joe Starkey and former Pitt standout Darnell Dinkins will be talking Panthers football and host an array of Pitt-oriented guests from noon to 4 p.m.
· Fans will be treated to live music, games, prizes and face painting throughout Heinz Field. Official Panthers merchandise and season tickets will also be on sale.
Admission for the Blue-Gold Game is free. Parking is available for $5 in Gold lots 1 and 2.
Pitt fans in the area who are unable to attend can watch a live telecast of the game on Pitt Panthers Television on the Comcast Network (channels 188 or 210). The telecast begins with a 30-minute pregame show at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Blue-Gold Game at 2 p.m., and a 30-minute live postgame show at 4 p.m. Calling the action will be Bill Hillgrove, former Pitt quarterback Pat Bostick and Darnell Dinkins.
The 2011 season marks the highly anticipated debut of the Todd Graham coaching era at Pitt. Graham comes to Pittsburgh after an exceptional tenure at Tulsa, where in four years he had three 10-win campaigns and three bowl victories. He compiled a 36-17 overall record with the Golden Hurricane, including a 10-3 mark last year that was highlighted by a 28-27 victory at Notre Dame and 62-35 win over 24th-ranked Hawai’i in the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl.
Pitt finished with an 8-5 overall record in 2010 and earned a share of the Big East championship with a 5-2 league mark. The Panthers closed the campaign with a 27-10 victory over Kentucky in the BBVA Compass Bowl.
