Two Set Personal Bests at Mason Invitational

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt men's track and field team recorded 17 top-eight finishes, including three top-three times this weekend at the Mason Invitational in Fairfax, Va.
The Panthers relay team of sophomore Tashaun Hill, junior Kevin Wilbank, freshman Daniel O'Toole and sophomore Caleb Matthews crossed the finish line third in the 4x100 relay with a time of 43.99 seconds. The race marked the first time the four sprinters ran together this season.
Hill also competed in the 100M and 110M hurdles, finishing in second (11.39 seconds) and third (14.57 seconds), respectively.
Junior Folarin Ijelu registered a third-place finish in the triple jump, leaping to a mark of 14.65m.
Sophomore Wesley Washington set a career best of 3:57.27 in the 1500M run, finishing sixth.
In the pole vault, sophomore Bradley Rocco set a career best throw of 4.00m, earning a top-10 finish and breaking his previous best of 3.80m.
The men's team will be back in action this weekend when it sends representatives to the Bison Classic (Lewisburg, Pa.) and the Sea Ray Relays (Knoxville, Tenn.). Both meets begin on Friday, April 15.
