The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team opened up camp in preparation for the 2010 season earlier this week at Trees Field on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
The Panthers welcomed a large first-year class that includes multiple junior college All-Americans and prolific goal scorers to compliment a very experienced group of veterans. Following early skills work on the first day, the coaching staff split the squad into four teams and scrimmaged for the remaining hour and a half of the first session.
Camp will run everyday leading up to the first exhibition game. The morning session is from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. followed by an afternoon session going from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
Pitt will host California (Pa.) on Wednesday, August 25th at 11 a.m. at Founders Field in its first of two exhibition games before the start of the regular season. The Panthers will then host St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, August 28th at 1 p.m. at Founders Field.
The regular season will kick off on Wednesday, September 1 when the Panthers will host local rival Robert Morris. Gametime is set for 7 p.m. at Founders Field.
