Lowery Advances to the Quarterfinals of the NCAA East Regional

GREENSBORO, N.C.—On the opening day of events, sophomore Jermaine Lowery advanced to the quarterfinals of the 400M hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor East Regionals, held at Irwin Bell Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State.
Lowery competed in the first track event of the meet, where he finished 15th overall in the 400M hurdles. He placed third in his individual heat and qualified for the quarterfinals with a time of 51.73. Lowery returns to action on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
On the women’s side, senior Brianna Broyles ran in the top heat of the 400M hurdles, this afternoon. She finished seventh in her race and 35th overall with a time of 1:00.57.
Competing in their first-ever NCAA Regional meet, sophomore Dontave Cowsette recorded a 1:51.72 finish in the men’s 800M run, while freshman Rachael McIntosh participated in the women’s high jump.
Action resumes on Friday with freshman Tashaun Hill in the 110M hurdles at 4:30 p.m. Following Lowery’s quarterfinal race, sprinters Cambrya Jones and Da’Lynn Mills will run in the 200M dash that evening.
