Hill Finishes Third in 60M Hurdles

AKRON, Ohio—Freshman Tashaun Hill earned a seed in the finals, as Pitt’s men’s track and field team competed in the Akron Invitational, this weekend.
Hill improved to third in the finals of the 60M hurdles, earning an IC4A standard of 8.06. Earlier, Hill placed fourth in the prelims at 8.20.
Additionally, sophomore Greg Kareis won the 800M run with an IC4A standard of 1:52.21. Likewise, sophomores Ben Hatch and Elliot Rhodes crossed the 800M run finish line under an IC4A qualifying mark.
Sophomore Dontave Cowsette qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 400M dash. He finished ninth with a time of 48.83.
Junior Maka Mudekunye fell just below the Big East standard, posting a ninth-place finish in the 200M dash (22.62). Also qualifying for the Big East Championships was senior Nick Malenka in the pole vault.
Next, the Panthers will travel to New York for the Big East Championships on Feb. 20-21.
