Three Men Finish in the Top Five

STATE COLLEGE, Pa.—Three Panthers finish in the top-five, as Pitt’s men’s track and field team competed in the Penn State National Open, this weekend. No team scores were available.
Just missing the NCAA provisional mark, sophomore Dontave Cowsette posted a second-place performance in the 800M run, stopping the clock at 1:50.68.
Later, sophomore Elliot Rhodes finished fourth in the 500M (1:04.60), earning a berth in the IC4A Championships.
Also, posting IC4A results, sophomore Folarin Ijelu finished fifth in the triple jump (15.02M) and junior Garrett Larkin placed ninth in the shot put (16.32M).
In distance events, juniors Teddy Miller and Josh Christopher finished 11th and 13th, respectively in the 5,000M run. Additionally, sophomore Kevin Wilbank recorded a top-20 finish in the 200M dash,
The Panthers travel to New York for the two-day New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Friday, Feb. 5.
