Pitt Notes
• Game captains for Pitt were #6 LB Steve Dell, #95 DL Mick Williams, #74 OL John Malecki, and #80 TE Nate Byham.
• The win gave Pitt its first 3-0 start to a season since 2000.
• Freshman LB Dan Mason earned his first career start. He started at the MLB position in place of Adam Gunn, who was sidelined with an ankle injury.
• WR Oderick Turner’s first quarter TD reception marked his first of the season and gives him 15 TD catches in his career.
• Freshman RB Ray Graham’s 15-yard TD run in the second quarter marks his second rushing TD of the season.
• WR Jonathan Baldwin’s 111 yards receiving is the first 100-yard receiving game by a Pitt receiver since Baldwin finished with 101 yards receiving against Navy on Oct. 18, 2008. His 111 yards receiving marks a career high for the sophomore.
• Freshman RB Dion Lewis’ 6-yard TD run in the second quarter gives him five rushing TDs in just three games and six TDs total (5 rushing, 1 receiving). Entering tonight’s game, Lewis ranked tied for second nationally in scoring at 15.0 points per game.
• Pitt continued its success on fourth down as it converted both of its opportunities (2-for-2). The Panthers entered the game ranked tied for first nationally in the NCAA’s fourth down efficiency ratings.
• DL Gus Mustakas made a career high 10 tackles on the night. His previous high was six tackles vs. Grambling.
• In his first career start, LB Dan Mason tallied a team and career high 11 tackles, including two sacks for 14 yards.
Navy Notes
Navy’s loss today gives the Midshipmen ...
_ an overall record of 1-2 in 2009 ... it’s the third straight year and the fourth time in the last five years that the Mids have started their season 1-2
_ an all-time record of 633-518-57 in what is the 129th year of football at the Academy
_ a 52-27 record over the last seven years after posting a 3-30 record from 2000-02
_ a 13-22-3 record against Pitt, dropping back-toback games to the Panthers
_ a 46-57-4 record against opponents from the Big East

Team Notes
_ Navy was held to just 129 yards rushing ... it’s the worst ground gain by the Mids since Oct. 14, 2006, when the Mids mustered just 113 yards rushing.
_ Navy finished the game with just 218 yards of total offense, the fewest yards since the Mids put up just 161 yards of total offense against Rutgers on Oct. 14, 2006
_ The 14 points are the fewest Navy has scored since dropping a 38-14 decision to Notre Dame on Oct. 28, 2006
_ The Mids have given up opening-drive touchdowns in each of their three contests this season
_Navy has punted on the opening drive of the game in each of the last two contests
