Men's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at IC4A Championships

PITTSBURGH—Pitt’s men’s cross country team traveled to New York on Saturday, November 21, for the 101st IC4A Championships. The seven men placed fifth overall, running the Van Courtlandt Park trail.
The squad was led by sophomore Greg Kareis, placing 11th in the race, with a final time of 26:14.1. Crossing the finish line shortly after Kareis was junior Teddy Miller, who finished 13th with a time of 26:15.7.
Freshman Chase Broussard also finished in the 26th minute and placed 40th overall.
Later, senior Kyle Kaminski and freshmen Vinnie DePalma and Andrew Cerrito each finished in the 27th minute of the race. Depalma claimed 49th overall, while Kaminski was 57th and Cerrito trailed for 58th.
Tim Moyer rounded out the Panthers with a performance in the 28th minute.
The Panthers recorded an overall time of 2:13.57.00, averaging 26:47.40 and finished just fractions of a second behind the U.S. Military Academy, New Hampshire and Albany. All teams finished under first-place Temple, who totaled a time of 2:10:47.20.
