PITT-MARQUETTE POST-GAME NOTES

*Pitt dropped to 19-6 overall and 7-5 in Big East play.

*Levance Fields saw his first game action in 12 contests. The junior point guard was cleared to practice for the first time last Thursday after suffering a fractured fifth metatarsal in his left foot against Dayton on Dec. 29. Originally doctors and trainers figured that he would be sidelined 8-12 weeks but he promised fans that he would return by Valentine's Day. Fields saw action in 20 minutes during the contest and was inserted into the lineup with 14:19 left in the first half. He finished with four points and two assists.

*The 18-point loss represented Pitt's largest Big East regular season loss of the Jamie Dixon Era. It was the second largest loss of the season.

*The 18-point loss represented Pitt's largest Big East regular season road loss of the Jamie Dixon Era. Previously, Dixon's largest loss was an eight-point loss at Georgetown (61-53 on Feb. 24, 2007).

*With his 18 points, Sam Young reached double figure scoring for the 24^th time in Pitt's 25 games.

*Pitt dropped its fourth consecutive game at Marquette in Milwaukee. The Panthers are 0-3 vs. Marquette in Milwaukee since the Golden Eagles joined the Big East Conference in 2005-06. Pitt also fell to 4-6 all-time vs. Marquette.

*Pitt's nine-point halftime deficit represented its largest deficit since it trailed by 12 points vs. Duke at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 20, 2007.

*The attendance at the Bradley Center was 19,011. The mark ranked among Marquette's top-5 crowds at the Bradley Center. Three of Pitt's games vs. Marquette rank among the Bradley Center's top-5 most attended games.

*Under Dixon, Pitt dropped to 22-16 in Big East regular season road games. The Panthers have won 12 of its last 20 road games.

*Pitt dropped to 11-6 vs. Big East Conference schools added in 2005-06: Cincinnati 2-1, DePaul 2-0, Louisville 3-1, Marquette 2-4 and South Florida 2-0.

*The 18-point loss was uncharacteristic of Dixon-coached teams. In Dixon's 160 games and 36 losses as head coach at Pitt, the Panthers have lost only seven games by more than 10 points. Three of those have come this season: 13-point loss to Rutgers, 25-point loss at Dayton and 18-point loss at Marquette.

*Pitt was outrebounded 36-33 on the evening. The contest marked just the sixth time in 25 games that the Panthers were outrebounded. Pitt fell to 1-5 when outrebounded.

*Pitt's 9.1 percent (1-11) 3-point field goal shooting percentage represented its lowest total in the Jamie Dixon Era and lowest of the season.

*Pitt's 54 points marked the Panther's second lowest point total this season. Pitt scored just 53 points at Connecticut on Feb. 2, 2008.
