PITT-PROVIDENCE POST-GAME NOTES

*With the win tonight, Pitt moves to 19-5 overall and 7-4 in Big East Conference play.

*With the win, Jamie Dixon improved to 52-23 vs. Big East regular season competition. Additionally, Dixon improved to 124-35 all-time as Pitt's head coach. Dixon now owns a 78-9 home record in his fifth season at the helm.

*With today's victory, Jamie Dixon improved to 124-35 overall in his fifth season as Pitt's head basketball coach. The 124 victories rank as the fifth most victories for an NCAA Division I coach after five seasons as a head coach. Here is where Dixon ranks on the all-time wins list after five seasons:

*Pitt has won 16 of its last 17 games at the Petersen Events Center. Pitt now owns a 94-9 record and a .913 winning percentage in the six-year old arena. Pitt also owns a 38-8 regular season record vs. Big East opponents in the Petersen Events Center.

*Pitt improves to 14-1 at home this year. The Panthers have now won 43 of their last 51 Big East Conference regular season games at the Petersen Events Center.

*Pitt won its eighth consecutive game vs. Providence. Pitt also improved to 5-0 vs. the Friars in the Petersen Events Center and 18-3 all-time vs. PC in games played in Pittsburgh. Pitt owns a 27-16 all-time record vs. Providence.

*Ronald Ramon tied a career-high with five 3-point field goals tonight.

*Sam Young's 22 points tonight marked the ninth time that he has scored 20 or more in a game this season. It also was the 23^rd time in 24 games that he has scored in double figures.

*Gilbert Brown registered a career-best five assists tonight. His previous high was four (at South Florida, 1/9/08; vs. Buffalo, 11/23/07). He also tied a career-high for made free-throws with four.

*Gary McGhee ripped down a career-high six rebounds tonight. His previous best was four at South Florida (1/9/08).

*Pitt allowed Providence to just 63 points tonight. The team has limited 20 of its first 24 opponents to 70 points or less in 2007-08. Since Jamie Dixon took over as head coach, Pitt has held 132 of its 159 opponents under 70 points. The Panthers has limited 50 of 59 Big East regular season opponents to 70 points or less over the last four years (2004-08).
