Swimming and Diving Announces Performers of the Meet

PITTSBURGH-Head Coach Chuck Knoles announced Pitt's Performers of the Meet by honoring freshman Alex Navarro, senior Alex Volovetski and sophomore Katie Cutrell. This award is voted on by the team captains after every meet.
Navarro (Redwood City, Calif.) was named Male Swimmer of the Meet after claiming first-place finishes in the 200 and 500 freestyle events. Additionally, he touched third in the 100 free.
Earning Male Diver of the Meet, Volovetski (Brandon, Fla.) won both boards in the Notre Dame contest. The All-American diver also won the 3M board in the season opener against St. Bonaventure, a week prior.
Swimming a lifetime best and earning a second-place finish in the 1000 free, Cutrell (Ligonier, Pa.) was honored as the Female Swimmer of the Meet.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, for a noon meet at Cincinnati.
