PITT-GEORGETOWN POST-GAME NOTES

*With its win over Georgetown this evening, Pitt improves to 4-1 at home against top-5 ranked teams (Georgetown entered the contest ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press poll) during the Ben Howland and Jamie Dixon Eras. Pitt has also won each of its last four home games against top-5 nationally ranked teams. Here is a listing of each of the last five home games vs. top-5 nationally ranked teams:

*Ronald Ramon's four 3-point field goals tonight gave him 196 for his career and tied him for fifth on Pitt's all-time list with Jason Maile. Maile converted 196 3-pointers in 111 career games from 1992-97. Ramon's assist-to-turnover ratio is 2.91:1 (32 assists, only 11 turnovers) in his five games since taking over the point guard duties for the injured Fields.

*Keith Benjamin's 6-8 performance from the foul line set career highs for free-throws made and attempted. His previous bests were four in both categories.

*The Panthers have elevated their shooting percentages in the absence of Levance Fields and Mike Cook. Over the past five games they are converting 51.1% of their field goal attempts (142-278) and 50% of their three-point attempts (40-80).

*The game marked Pitt's second Big East regular season home game. It was Pitt's 99^th home game at the Petersen Events Center since the arena opened in 2002-03. Pitt will play its 100^th home game in the Petersen Events Center when it hosts Rutgers on January 26, 2008.

*Pitt held Georgetown to 60 points tonight. Pitt has now held 14 of its 17 opponents to 70 points or less on the season and has held 44 of its last 52 Big East regular season opponents to 70 points or less. Additionally, since Jamie Dixon became head coach, Pitt has held 126 of its 152 opponents to 70 points or less.

*Pitt outrebounded Georgetown today 37-33. Pitt has now outrebounded its opponents in 14 of 17 games played this year.

*Pitt won its 13th consecutive home game dating back to Feb. 17, 2007. The 13-game home win streak ranks sixth among Pitt's all-time top streaks.

*Pitt improved to 11-0 at home this season. The 11-0 record ranks third for the best home winning percentage in school history. Pitt went 16-0 in 2002-03 and 13-0 in 1973-74.

*Pitt improves to 35-7 all-time vs. Big East opponents at the Petersen Events Center.

*Pitt improves to 91-8 all-time in the Petersen Events Center. Head Coach Jamie Dixon now owns a 75-8 home record in his fifth season at the helm. Pitt has now won 97 of its last 106 home games.

*The win gave Jamie Dixon a 48-20 record vs. Big East regular season competition. Additionally, Dixon improved to 120-32 all-time as Pitt's head coach.
