PROVIDENCE, R.I.-- The 2007-08 University of Pittsburgh men's basketball team will play an expanded 18-game BIG EAST Conference schedule the league announced Friday afternoon. Pitt will face all 15 of the potential league opponents and play three of those schools two times apiece.

Pitt will play nine home games and nine away contests. Home opponents at the Petersen Events Center will include Cincinnati, DePaul, Georgetown, Louisville, Providence, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Villanova and West Virginia.

The Panthers' 2007-08 road opponents include Cincinnati, Connecticut, Marquette, Notre Dame, St. John's, USF, Syracuse, Villanova and West Virginia.

Pitt's three repeat opponents are Cincinnati, Villanova and West Virginia.

The Big East will play an 18-game conference schedule after playing a 16-game slate for the last eight seasons. The league has not played an 18-game conference schedule since the 1998-99 season when the conference had 13 members.

Dates and times will be released when finalized in early September. Pitt's non-conference opponents will be released at a later date.
