PITTSBURGH - Pitt junior Sam Bair will compete in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Championships next week. Bair finished ninth at last weekend's regional meet and fourth in the preliminaries.
Earlier this season, Bair (Pittsburgh, Pa./Kent State) broke the school record in this event. He finished with a time of 3:42.36 at the IUP Open in April to hold one of the top times in the nation. Bair enters the national championships ranked 14th in the 1,500 meters. He is a returning NCAA All-America selection and picked up all-conference honors earlier this month.
Bair and the women's 400-meter relay team will head to Sacramento, Calif., for the NCAA Championships. The meet will run from June 6-10.
