PITTSBURGH - The Pitt wrestling team will hold its annual summer camps from July 9 through July 13, 2007. Two camps are available to interested participants--an intensive camp and a technique camp.
Overseeing the camp programs will be Pitt Head Coach Rande Stottlemyer. Throughout his coaching career, he's produced a two NCAA champions, 25 All-Americans and 22 EWL Champions. He is a two-time EWL Coach of the Year and has guided at least one wrestler to All-America honors in 15 of the past 17 seasons. While a wrestler at Pitt, Stottlemyer was a three-time All-American and conference champion. He will be joined by assistants Jason Peters, Ron Tarquinio and Bryan Stout.
The intensive camp provides more than just excellent technique. The coaching staff will also provide strength and conditioning workouts along with seminars and information on how to train at the highest level. Any junior high or high school wrestler that is striving to become the best technical and conditioned athlete should attend this camp.
The technique camp is designed for the individual needs as a wrestler. Campers will receive plenty of individual instruction. Camp clinicians will cover a wide variety of technique ranging from basic position to advanced offensive and defensive techniques.
