POST-GAME QUOTESHEET
Pitt vs.
Quoting Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon:
Opening Statement:
"We were fortunate to catch this team undermanned, with their top two guards injured. They were picked to win their conference and I still think they have a chance to play in the NCAA tournament. This victory might look a lot better for us come March or April. We played well early and I think sometimes that's tough to sustain as the game goes on. Still, I'm very pleased with the unselfishness we displayed. We're always looking to make the extra pass and get the best shot possible."
On putting his starters back in with eight minutes left in the game:
"That was more trying to give the guys we had in a rest than anything. Sometimes in these games when the score gets a little lopsided, it's tough to get your substitutions right. Basically, I didn't want to leave the group that was currently playing in for 15 or 16 minutes, so I had to sub. It was not reflective of anyone's play."
On beating
"I would never consider a win a bad thing or a detriment. Certainly these things don't always shake out the way you've planned. We've had to play games throughout the years where we've been undermanned and didn't have the guys we would have liked. My biggest concern is for BU's coach Wolff, because he's a good coach and a good man and he deserves better fortune than this."
On Ronald Ramon struggling to find his shot early in the season:
"I think it was a combination of both practice time and his ability to move. When you shoot, it's more about your legs than your arms or your hands, which is something people forget. He's also a gym rat who loves to get out and work on his shot, which is something he can't do as much of when he's in the training room."
Quoting Pitt's Ronald Ramon:
On going 5-5 from 3-point range:
"It feels good. I knew all along the team had confidence in me that I would get things going with my shot. They told me the whole time that I just had to keep shooting and the ball would start falling. I knew I was capable of this and that it was just a matter of time."
On hitting his first 3-pointer of the game:
"No matter how you're going it always feels good to hit the first three you take in a game. For me, part of my slow start was confidence so to be able to stick one right away was a big help the rest of the game."
On playing against
"We just try to execute our stuff against any competition. We don't try to worry too much about what they're running or the different looks that they're showing us. We're confident that if we run our offense the way we're supposed to and get good shots that we can beat any scheme that another team throws at us."
Quoting Pitt's Levance Fields:
On the play of Ronald Ramon:
"Ronald had the support of the whole team behind him. He's a great shooter and a great player. It wasn't the start to the season that we necessarily wanted, but we know how hard he works and there was no way it wasn't going to get better."
On Pitt being challenged so far this season
"To be honest, not really beyond
On Pitt's 16 turnovers:
"That's another area that we feel we have to improve upon. We felt we were rushing a bit in the first half, but that we got it corrected as the game progressed. Unfortunately, we got a little sloppy later on, but that will be a point of emphasis in practice this week. You can't expect to turn the ball over like that and still win."

On Playing Without Corey Lowe and Tyler Morris:
"I did not want to take the chance of playing Corey [Lowe] and Tyler [Morris] in this game. We were without our two leading scorers [Lowe and Morris] so if they were in the game we probably would have played better, but it wouldn't have affected the outcome of the game. No one can predict when players will become injured and no one is going to feel sorry for you if it happens. Right now we just want to get Lowe and Morris healthy and back into the gym and we'll see where we are then."
