PITT-BUFFALO POST-GAME NOTES

*Pitt's 16 steals tied a team high in the Petersen Events Center. It also tied a team best under Jamie Dixon. The Panthers set both records against Houston Baptist earlier this season (11/9/07).

*Sam Young finished the night with 20 points, marking the fourth time in his career that he has scored 20 or more points. Dating back to last year, it was also the 13^th time in the last 16 games that he has scored in double figures. Young also registered a career high three blocks. His previous high was two (nine times, last against Saint Louis, 11/11/07)

*Tyrell Biggs poured in a career-high 12 points, besting his previous high of 11 (three times, last time against Florida State 11/24/06). His six free throw attempts set a new career-best and his four made free throws and three offensive boards tied career highs.

*Keith Benjamin also set a career high for points. His 17 points tonight topped his previous high of 16 (two times, last against Houston Baptist, 11/9/07). His six field goals and three steals also tied career bests.

*Levance Fields' 15-point outing marked his 30^th career double figure scoring night.

*Gilbert Brown dished out a career high four assists. His previous high was two (two times, last against Mississippi Valley State, 11/15/07). His three offensive rebounds were also a career best. His one steal also tied a career high.

*Buffalo's 25 turnovers were the second highest total forced by the Panthers during the Jamie Dixon era. Pitt was one short of tying the record of 26, which was set against Virginia Tech (1/6/04).

*Pitt begins its season at 5-0 for the eighth consecutive year. The last time Pitt did not begin a season with five straight wins was in 1999-00.

*Pitt won its 24^th consecutive home game against a non-conference opponent. Pitt is approaching its school record of 28 consecutive home wins against non-conference opponents set from Nov, 23, 2002-Jan. 2, 2005.

*Pitt also improves to 52-1 vs. non-conference opponents at the Petersen Events Center. Additionally, Pitt has won 73 of its last 74 home games against regular season non-conference opponents.

*Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon improved to an undefeated 23-0 in games played in November. Combining his November and December records, Dixon owns a 52-2 record in pre-January contests and is now 54-3 vs. non-conference competition. Additionally, Dixon improved to 110-30 all-time as Pitt's head coach.

*Pitt also won the 29^th of its last 31 games against non-conference opponents.

*Pitt improves to 85-8 all-time in the Petersen Events Center. Head Coach Jamie Dixon now owns a 69-8 home record in his fifth season at the helm.

*Pitt improved to 74-5 in the last seven years against non-conference competition.

*Pitt improved to 8-1 all-time vs. Buffalo. It has won eight straight games against the Bulls dating back to 1917. Pitt also improved to 30-26 all-time vs. Mid-American Conference opponents.

*Pitt held Buffalo to 45 points on the evening. Since Jamie Dixon became head coach, Pitt has held 116 of its 139 opponents under 70 points. Last year Pitt limited 31 of its 37 opponents under 70 points.

*Pitt is approaching the one million mark for total attendance. With tonight's crowd of 10,569, Pitt has now had 992,662 fans attend games in the six-year old Petersen Events Center.
