PITT-MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE POST-GAME NOTES

*Sam Young tied a career high by grabbing 12 rebounds to go along with his 17 points. It marked his fourth career double-double with points and rebounds. Tonight also marked Young's 32^nd career double-figure scoring night and the 12^th time in 15 games (dating back to last season) that he has put up 10 points or more.

*Gilbert Brown registered his first double figure scoring night, finishing with 12 points. He also posted career highs in defensive rebounds (3), field goals (4), free throws (2) and free throw attempts (2). He tied his career bests in three-point field goals (2), three-point field goal attempts (2), rebounds (4), assists (1) and steals (1).

*Brad Wanamaker recorded career bests in points (7), field goals (3), three-point field goals (1), and blocks (1). He tied his previous high for three-point attempts (2).

*Pitt played its final Hispanic College Fund Challenge presented by Nemacolin Woodlands Resort game vs. Mississippi Valley State.

*Tyrell Biggs poured in 10 points tonight. His seven field goal attempts marked a career high and his five made field goals tied a career best.

*Pitt begins its season at 4-0 for the ninth consecutive season. The last time Pitt did not begin a season with four straight wins was in 1997-98.

*Pitt won its 23^rd consecutive home game against a non-conference opponent. Pitt is now approaching its school record of 28 consecutive home wins against non-conference opponents set from Nov, 23, 2002-Jan. 2, 2005.

*Pitt also improves to 51-1 vs. non-conference opponents at the Petersen Events Center. Additionally, Pitt has won 72 of its last 73 home games against regular season non-conference opponents.

*Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon improved to an undefeated 22-0 in games played in November. Combining his November and December records, Dixon owns a 51-2 record in pre-January contests and is now 53-3 vs. non-conference competition. Additionally, Dixon improved to 109-30 all-time as Pitt's head coach.

*Pitt also won the 28^th of its last 30 games against non-conference opponents.

*Pitt improves to 84-8 all-time in the Petersen Events Center. Head Coach Jamie Dixon now owns a 68-8 home record in beginning his fifth season at the helm.

*Pitt improved to 73-5 in the last seven years against non-conference competition.

*Pitt improved to 4-0 all-time vs. members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Pitt and Mississippi Valley State met for the first time in series history. Pitt is 1-0 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff and 2-0 vs. Prairie View A&M.

*Pitt held Mississippi Valley State to 45 points on the evening. Since Jamie Dixon became head coach, Pitt has held 116 of its 139 opponents under 70 points. Last year Pitt limited 31 of its 37 opponents under 70 points.

*Pitt is approaching the one million mark for total attendance. With tonight's crowd of 9,449, Pitt has now had 982,093 fans attend games in the six-year old Petersen Events Center.
