In the 77th minute, Friar midfielder Justin Kahle tallied his first goal of the season as well off a free kick for the game's final of 2-0.
Barnes finished with a total of six saves on the day, while senior captain Matt Langton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) and sophomore Mike McDade (Plum, Pa./Plum) recorded Pitt's only two shots-on-goal of the game.
The Panthers recognized their senior players and manager as well as their alumni prior to today's contest, while they honored former Pitt men's soccer player Scott Alexander at halftime by presenting his family with honorary jerseys.
Alexander was diagnosed with cancer in February and passed away shortly after in March. He played at Pitt under current head coach Joe Luxbacher from 1989 - 1992.
