PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh and its multimedia rights holder, ISP Sports, will provide the Panthers with thoroughly comprehensive radio coverage this season.
Pitt football is broadcast on the Pittsburgh ISP Sports Network, presented by First Commonwealth Bank. Game broadcasts will air over a loyal network of stations, including flagships FM NewsTalk 104.7 (WPGB-FM) and Fox Sports Radio 970 (WBGG-AM) in Pittsburgh.
For the 33rd consecutive year, Bill Hillgrove will serve as the "Voice of the Panthers." Bill Fralic, who starred at Pitt from 1981-84 and ranks as one of college football's greatest offensive linemen, enters his third year as color analyst. They will be joined by former Pitt offensive lineman Penny Semaia, a four-year letterman from 2000-03, who will provide sideline reports.
Football game broadcasts include:
• Two-hour pregame programming beginning with "First and Long," a 30-minute show featuring Pitt athletic director Jeff Long and host Rob King. Pregame analysis then continues with the 90-minute Geico Panthers Pregame Show. Joe Bendel joins Hillgrove, Fralic and King in the discussion.
• The hour-long Baierl Automotive Postgame Show hosted by Bill Hillgrove and Bill Fralic. Postgame coverage includes highlight recaps and live interviews with coaches and players.
• "Panther Hotline," an hour-long call-in show following postgame coverage that provides Pitt fans the opportunity to weigh in on the day's action.
Additionally, the weekly "Dave Wannstedt Show" will air live on Fox Sports Radio 970 from the Pittsburgh Steak Company (1924 East Carson Street) Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Coach Wannstedt previews the upcoming game and takes questions from callers listening on many of the same Pittsburgh ISP Sports Network affiliates that carry Pitt game broadcasts.
The Pittsburgh ISP Sports Network includes 21 stations throughout the region. Broadcasts are also available via SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Pitt's official Web site, www.PittsburghPanthers.com.
