*Pitt improved to 23-6 overall on the year. The 23 victories rank as the seventh-best win total in school history.
*The victory sets up a semifinal matchup against No. 2 seed Villanova. Pitt and Villanova did not meet in the regular season this year.

*Aaron Gray tied a career-high with nine offensive rebounds vs.
*Freshman Sam Young made his first career start and finished with a double-double (14 points/career-high 13 rebounds) in a career-high 32 minutes.
*Two players notched double-doubles for Pitt: Aaron Gray and Sam Young. That is the second time this year that two players finished with double-doubles. The last time was against Notre Dame on Jan. 4 when Gray (25 points, 11 rebounds) and Young (15 points, 12 rebounds) both notched double-doubles.
*Carl Krauser finished with 10 points and six assists. He moved into fourth place on Pitt's all-time Big East Championship career scoring list with 109 points and moved into third place on the school's assist list with 31 career assists.
