Two Panthers Continue Success in Meyo Invitational

The men's track and field team has been having a lot of indoor success with their distance runners. Sophomore Sam Bair, fresh from breaking a record spanning three decades took home a first-place finish in the mile at the Meyo Invitational this weekend hosted by Notre Dame. Teammate Tim Konoval finished in third in the event, setting a new personal-best in the event.
Bair (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) captured the championship in the mile with a time of 4:01.22. Last week he set a new school record with a time of 4:01.14 at the Penn State National Open, making him an NCAA provisional qualifier in this event.
Konoval (Parry Sound, Ontario/Central Connecticut State) ran a new personal best and captured third place in the mile. Konoval narrowly edged out his previous best time of 4:04.56 with a 4:04.43 run on Saturday. He is also an NCAA provisional qualifier for Pitt.
The men's track and field team will return to State College next weekend for the Penn State Challenge Cup, their last regular season meet before the Big East Championships on February 18.
